Episode 25: Mr. L's study abroad...

Until last time~

A short, unattractive 31-year-old man (pen name Terada Makoto because he looks like Terada Makoto) knocks on the door of Universe and tries his hand at sugar dating! He goes on a dinner date with blonde part-time worker L-san at a Mediterranean/Arabic restaurant in Shibuya Scramble Square, which is his last date before she goes abroad to study...

As planned, L went to Korea to study abroad, and a few days before her departure, I sent her a LINE message wishing her a happy trip, but she just read it and didn't reply. By the way, when I sent her a LINE message asking her to send me some photos she took when she went to Shibuya, she just read it and didn't reply.

(Are you finally trying to use the pretense of studying abroad in Korea to let the relationship with me disappear naturally?)

This led me to raise such questions.

I didn't get any LINE messages from her during the study abroad. She said she was studying abroad for two months, so I sent her a LINE message a little over two months later asking, "Are you back in Japan soon?" but there was no reply.

(The relationship has already been severed.)

I was depressed, but as time passed I began to look forward again.

However, about six months after I left for study abroad, when I had almost forgotten about her,

I received a LINE message saying, "Makoto, I'm back in Japan!"

(Why are you suddenly replying to my LINE messages after ignoring them so much?)

I was annoyed, but I didn't think there would be any benefit to emotionally ending my relationship with Mr. L, so I decided to continue exchanging messages with him via LINE for the time being.

"Oh, I thought you were coming back to Japan in two months?"

I sent a LINE message saying,

"My work took longer than expected, so I couldn't come back," came the reply.

(Will my return be delayed from 2 months to 6 months? Even if it is delayed, at least let me know.)

I felt a bit uneasy.

Since she had returned to Japan, she was still working as a part-time worker, so it seemed like I could meet her anytime, but because of the above incident, and also because her LINE icon screen, which changes from time to time, was mostly a selfie of her, it was clear that the width and shape of her double eyelids had changed since the last time I met her, and while it would have been fine if it had looked natural, it clearly looked like she had had plastic surgery, so for some reason I was hesitant to meet her.

One day, about a year later, I suddenly thought I'd like to go to TeamLab in Toyosu, a place I'd never been to before, and after some hesitation, I decided to invite L.

I thought it would be much more fun to go with someone, especially a girl, and take photos while doing so, than going alone, so I thought if I invited her quickly, she'd probably come since she'd have some free time (lol). So I invited her, and sure enough, L-sama said she could go.

So we made plans and on the day I met her for the first time in a long while, I was taken aback by her new face, which could be called a cyborg, and it was immediately obvious that she had had plastic surgery on her nose and eyes.

Did Mr. L think something was wrong when he saw me like that?

"Actually, I had a nose job and made the tip higher."

However, not only her nose but also her eyes were clearly different from before, they now had unnatural wide double eyelids, almost like a foreigner's (although they had always had unnatural double eyelids), which made the unnaturalness of her face stand out even more.

Furthermore, her fashion that day, while previously she had been a bit trendy and not strange, this time she was wearing a brightly patterned cut-and-sew top with a large opening at the chest, exposing her cleavage and bra at a glance; I was overwhelmed by her outfit, which seemed like the quintessential nightlife outfit.

(I liked L-sama's previous normal fashion and appearance though...)

I was also disappointed.

We met for the first time in a while and talked about various things. I learned that she currently makes a living from paid drinking events, where the organizers pay participants a fee, and the participants receive a fee (a fee), but because she can't handle alcohol that much, she can't attend many events and isn't earning a satisfactory income. She said that her drinking job is physically demanding and stressful, and that she has lost weight compared to before. It's true that she used to look a little chubby around her belly button, but this time her body was firm and toned.

Although I was troubled by L's transformation, I was able to enjoy teamLab to the fullest that day! I was overwhelmed by the artworks that made full use of digital technology, and I couldn't help but take lots of photos of the colorful exhibits that looked perfect for Instagram (lol).

After enjoying TeamLab, we had dinner at Toyosu and strolled around LaLaport Toyosu, but I just couldn't enjoy the conversation or the date with her any more, and I was exhausted after the date, so although L asked me if I wanted to go on a date with her after that, I turned her down with some excuse and we haven't seen each other since.

I'll continue to talk about how I've been doing with Universe and whether I've found a new partner in my next column!!
