Love for Sale Episode 5

Riko-chan is a pear fairy.

I have never been in love, nor have I had anyone eat a pear.

Despite this, Riko decides to sell pears in Orchard Village.

The village where Riko grew up is far from the main road and is rarely visited by people.

I wanted someone to eat the pear and share its vitality with me, and if possible, I also wanted them to say it was delicious.

Riko opened a small shop in a corner of Orchard Village.

"I've never had anyone try fruit before, so I'm not sure if it tastes good, but please give it a try."

In such modest words, but with all her heart and effort, she called out to the travelers.

But none of the travelers look back.

"I wonder if my pears will sell?"

Riko felt sad.

One traveler became interested in Riko's pears.

"Those pears look delicious. Can I be your first customer?"

"Yes, please."

The traveler was given a pear and said,

"It's still young and not very sweet, but it has a wonderful fragrance and is refreshing. I like it. I'll stop by again if I'm in the area."

Riko felt relieved and very happy to be able to welcome her first customer.

However, the next customer never showed up.

Travelers pass by, but they all head towards the colorful, eye-catching fruit.

Riko also tries to change her makeup and clothes, but it seems her efforts don't reach the travelers' hearts.

Then one day, the first traveller came to visit again.

"It's been a while. How have things been since then? Did you sell many pears?"

Riko replied sadly.

"No, since you bought it, we haven't had any new customers yet. Thank you so much for coming today."

"Really? It's true that it's not very sweet, but I like it."

Riko thought.

"Until now, I've wanted as many people as possible to eat my fruit and praise it, but maybe that was wrong. The most important thing is that just one person says it's delicious, and isn't that enough?"

Riko closed her shop and decided to travel around the villages with the traveler, helping him with his work.

Tabibito-san is very fond of Riko-chan. He eats the pears with great gusto and shares his vitality with her, just like when they met at the shop.

"I don't need to impress many people. If just one customer says the fruit is delicious and shares some of my vitality with me, that's enough."

Riko decided that she wanted to stay by this traveler's side from now on.

That's the story.

However, this story was told to me by the traveller.

I didn't hear this from Riko herself.

I don't know what Riko really thinks.

Perhaps Riko herself doesn't know either.

This is because young people are inexperienced and will likely change their minds quickly if they encounter new things or have new experiences.

We call that growing up. Young girls don't change their minds, they grow up.

On the other hand, the traveler is old enough that he no longer has any emotional growth.

All the traveler can do is be a place for Riko to sit for a little while.

A fruit that smells like love, but can never taste the sweetness of love.

By the time the fruit ripens, it will no longer be the fruit the traveler had imagined.

In the future, Riko may grow up and decide to leave Tabibito.

Never chase after them or let them bother you.

You can eat fruit that smells like love, but you can't fall in love.

Because the other person is a butterfly chrysalis, not a butterfly.

The pupa season lasts for a few months, or at most one or two years, or at most four years.

It's just a moment in a long life.

The traveler knows this too. But he can't help but feel that way. "Riko wants to stay by the traveler's side from now on."

It was a story about a young pear spirit that was not very sweet but had a refreshing scent.
